John Viserto is a seasoned media specialist with over 30+ years of experience including traditional media procurement for Broadcast, Cable, Digital, VOD, Advanced TV, Radio, Print and Outdoor Media. John has studied international marketing abroad and is a graduate of St. John’s Universtiy. He started his media career in sales as an intern for Inter-Rep Radio.
Upon graduation in May 1987, he secured a position at Darcy Masius Benton & Bowles, within their prestigious Network TV department. It was there that he developed his true passion for purchasing media and acquired his media expertise. As he continued to grow and further develop his talent, he transitioned into Reciprocal Trading. He is recognized in the barter industry as a leading executive that helps clients expand their media objectives. As a Trading Specialists, he has managed and purchased media across many categories including Auto, Pharmaceutical, Consumer Package Goods, Retail, QSR, Telecom and Studio. John resides in the Throgs Neck section of the Bronx.
Josh Smith is an industry veteran of the corporate trading industry. Josh joined Sherwood at its inception in 2006 and oversees the customization of programs that provide a significant EBITDA contribution for Sherwood’s Corporate Clients. He implements predictable, repeatable, and scalable sales and marketing practices. Josh recently took on his newest endeavor as the host of Sherwood’s BAM Show. The BAM Show is a weekly YouTube video series that seeks to demystify the ever-changing media and marketing landscape by sitting down with industry leaders, icons, and influencers to get viewers the real deal.
Josh graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in Communications in 2001. Athletic as ever, Josh enjoys CrossFit competitions and he aspires to one day compete in the Masters’ CrossFit Games. Josh and his wife, Shanna, reside in Upper Saddle River, NJ with their 3 children Sophie, Dylan and Riley.
Steve has been in the business for 25 years. He is a pioneer in the industry, pivoting the company focus from trading to integrated solutions, with a world-class expertise in trade finance and investment. Steve is proud of Sherwood’s independence, values, and ability to innovate on behalf of the customers. Steve played high school football, basketball and baseball, and he graduated summa cum laude from U.C. Berkley. He holds an MBA with honors from NYU’s Stern school of Business, where he won the Inaugural Charles Lazarus award for Entrepreneurship. Steve grew up in Newton Mass. He remains an avid Boston Sports fan, as do the two of his three children who remain in the will. Steve is an expert skier, novice piano player and enthusiastic gardener. Steve and his wife Barbara live in northern New Jersey with three kids and two dogs.
A seasoned business development executive with broad-based experience across traditional merchandising mediums. Greg began his career in the point of purchase display industry at Mark Philip Display Systems, Inc. rising over an eleven-year span to successively higher positions in sales and business development, ultimately being named General Sales Manager and Operations Manager.
In 2001 Greg founded Strategic Marketing & Promotions, Inc., (SMP) (a specialty division of Mark Philip Display Systems, Inc.) concentrating on high level – high exposure clientele. As President, he oversaw the company’s operations, and sales teams nationwide, and was intimately involved with strategic sourcing, project management, and project budgets. In 2018 Greg was named Chief Operating Officer at Sherwood.
Beyond his business acumen. Greg has shown a strong interest in philanthropy, volunteering with the New City, NY Lions Club to assist in raising money for the blind and developing strategies and programs to solicit donations from the public and corporate America.
Greg also belongs to an organization called Coffee for Kids (www.coffeekids.org), which helps children with their school supplies and resources needed to build educational facilities in third world countries.

Business Credit Scenarios
Client sells an asset with an initial book value of $300,000 and a standalone selling price of $100,000 to Sherwood for $300,000 in Business Credits. The benefit of $200,000 (amount greater than current book value) will be recognized as the Business Credits are redeemed. The value is recognized as the Client utilizes Business Credits, as a portion of payment in lieu of cash, for a normal operating expense.
Manufacturer sells inventory with a book value of $75,000, a standalone selling price of $75,000 and an initial wholesale price of $200,000 to Sherwood for $200,000 in Business Credits. The benefit of $125,000 (amount greater than current book value) will be recognized as the Business Credits are redeemed. The value is recognized as the Manufacturer utilizes Business Credits, as a portion of payment in lieu of cash, for a normal operating expense.
Rachel is a CPA with over 25 years of experience as a Senior Financial executive, including Audit Manager at Ernst & Young, LLP, VP/Controller at Icon International, Inc and CFO at Asset Management Program Consultants, Inc. Rachel has created proprietary programs and models to evaluate prospective corporate trade deals. Her knowledge of the intricate accounting treatments for corporate trade has made her a well-known industry expert. Her real strength is her ability to plan strategically, organize and manage financial operations.
Over the course of a career in international logistics Bob has enjoyed an adventurous life stretching from stints in the Amazon to Africa.
A hands-on executive, Bob, a graduate of the U. S. Merchant Marine Academy, has managed ships, terminals and shipping lines. He loves a logistics challenge and has established supply chains to reach the most remote places on the planet and pioneered shipping services to places like Paraguay and the Amazon.
When not solving transportation puzzles, Bob and his high school sweetheart Cindy enjoy swimming, hiking and spending time with their four sons and wives, and their seven grandchildren.
Katrina is a well-rounded leader in the Sherwood I.S. family, with roots in corporate trade going back 12 years as a lead negotiator and planner in print and digital media at Active International. Her expertise in Omni-channel marketing and retail activation has grown over the years, and evolved along with the nuances in the digital space utilizing data to bring positive ROI to Sherwood’s clients.
Katrina is a University at Albany graduate with a focus in English Language Arts. She is a Rockland County native, and is currently residing in Bergen County.
